Fis: the auditions!

Last week, we started our auditions. The executive directors (Mrs Cole and I) sat down with the producer( 6th class student) and had a chat about what we wanted. Our film is based in our school and has a dance theme, no, it’s not fame or anything! We won’t reveal too much now but we needed seriously good dancers and actors.

The children has been given the script and asked to try out for any role they liked.  We had a few parts going-the most auditioned for part was ” child with pencil”!

The audition process was a great laugh, the children were really funny when they had to be and serious when they wanted to be! Again, I was impressed by how mature the children were, spending a lot of time practicing their lines.

We improvised as we went along, with the producer and the children making me laugh out loud at a particular scene.

We gave out the parts and Mrs Cole is working on the dance scene over the mid-term.

The storyboarding is to be finished, that is taking the longest as the storyboarded is a perfectionist, which is great but we will have to put a date on it or we may never start filming.

Mr.Daly, the principal of Athy College, has informed us he has a cinema in the building where we are in that holds 60 people! Great excitement over this, imagine the premiere! The infants had been asking about Fis, they wanted to know what was going on. They had lots of questions and I told them that in about 5 years, they could be doing Fis too!
