My daughter and I made the large one that says, “If you can read this, thank a teacher.” She made a lot of paper dolls of children and coloured them.
They’re all a bit hard to read because I covered them in cling film to keep them dry. It worked but made them rather hard to read.
The other ones say:
“I deserve better…I am the future.”
The reverse side of the same placard says, “I’m going to school next year. Please, Minister O’Keeffe, Don’t Smoosh me in!!!” Signed My son’s name…
He was supposed to attend but the weather was really so bad I knew he’d be really grouchy about having to march in it. It was also FREEZING and the speakers were very loud. All in all, I’m glad I didn’t bring him.
