a chilled out start to my year in 5th class

Well, week one is down! I feel like I have had my class all year. I say this in a good way. I am quite pleased with my class as they are not of the infant variety and they can peel bananas all by themselves! Wow, it doesn’t take much to impress me!
I am on a health buzz. No, not just a phase but a real lifestyle change that will last forever, at least until Christmas party time! I went to visit a nutritional consultant. She specialises in digestive problems, which I was having many of last year. However, you do not want to hear about any of them, I’m sure.
She basically listened to me rave for an hour and a half and asked me every sort of probing question she could think of about my diet, lifestyle and general stress levels..I could tell she thinks I am stressed and I must admit certain times of the year make me feel overwhelmed. The months in the school year are June, September and December. Most teachers would agree with these too.
I received personal pack full of recipes, ideas, health tips, foods to eat and avoid and supplements to take. Please, let me share with you all!
B Vitamin Complex- extremely helpful for stressful times of the year, she advised me to take it for each of those stressful months.
Vitamin C in powder-1000mg-She told me to put it into the 2 litre bottle of water I will be drinking every day from now on-excellent for the immune system and general feeling GREAT!
Chromium- to stop those evil small break chocolate cravings and to stabilise my blood sugar levels. This in turn will give me the same amount of energy all day and all evening long! No dips of energy at all from now on!
Milk Thistle- For detoxing and clearing my liver, which needs cleaning badly…
Flaxseed, sesame seed, sunflower and pumpkin seeds- grind them up in a grinder each morning and eat with millet porridge.
In terms of food, these were gone- sugar, salt, alcohol, fried food and caffeine. I knew I would struggle with the lack of cappuchino every morning from certain Irish Sandwich bar…and the sugar thing, yikes! I was banking on those chromium tablets. Apparently all these lovely tasting foods that she asked me nicely to refrain from putting into my body make stress worse.
I gave the plan my best shot and after a week I feel debloated, full of energy, unstressed and in general able to handle the madness of September a bit more! I miss my chocolate still but will hold out for the full effect of the chromium tablets, they can take a few months!
Do keep in mind that these supplements were advised personally to me and you should consult a doctor or someone who is more qualified than me if you do decide to try it! Any health shop will advise you.
So, here’s to Week 2 and fingers crossed I can avoid the White Chocolate cookies I bought for the staffroom tomorrow! Have faith in me!
Till next week, my chilled out friends.
Love and hugs
Rozzie
