Kathryn Crowley from the NCCA alerted me (and the hundreds of teachers subscrided to DICTAT) that there are now 20 primary school exemplars provided by teachers from Digital Schools across the country uploaded to the ACTION website. Their subject/content include interactive phonics, counties of Ireland, control technology, people in the community, field trips, etc. I had a look at one or two of them and they seem very good. My only gripe (and it’s a really small one) is that I’d love to have seen some images of the classes in action. Check http://www.action.ncca.ie/en/ict-framework/acts for the ACTION site.

If you were to walk into any primary school and compared it to the classroom you might have sat in only a generation ago, apart

There are indeed some images of the children engaged in the activities embedded within some of the exemplars. For example, there is a picture gallery of children finding shapes in the infant class activity and photos of children on the field trip to a local stream. If teachers included images of their class, they were uploaded with the exemplar.
We intend moving the site to a dedicated server shortly so that the response/download times should be faster at the ACTION website.
