As many teachers know, parents can log into their child’s ClassDojo account and see how they are getting on. This is a useful tool for both teachers and parents as it can be a good way of having the same message going home. ClassDojo also allows teachers to send messages home using a tool called ClassStory, (formerly known as ClassWall). ClassStory lets a teacher post news and information about what’s been happening in the class directly to parents’ phones.
ClassDojo have thought about whether to have one or two-way communication and have come up with a good idea. Parents can “heart” any post that is made but parents cannot post anything onto ClassStory. Teachers can also see who had read the messages. The latter idea is a very useful one. It ends the days of parents saying: “I never got that message!”
As always, ClassDojo is free to use for everyone and at each stage it’s getting more and more interesting and useful. If you haven’t signed up to ClassDojo, give it a try with your class this August/September and I promise you’ll be converted!
