I have been aware of ClassDojo for a number of years and nominated the web site as the best free web tool in the Edublog awards for 2012. I can’t exactly remember when I first came across it but I remember wondering how on earth it was free! It’s such an amazing tool for behaviour management in classrooms that it’s even been suggested to be part of my school’s behaviour policy! I generally recommend 2 web sites when I’m asked about the best education tools for primary schools. The first is Calm.com and the other is ClassDojo so I was honoured and delighted to have been asked to be a ClassDojo ambassador for Ireland last week.
As part of my role, I will be writing a number of articles on Anseo.net about how ClassDojo can be used in the classroom. From chatting to colleagues who use it all the time, I’ll suggest some ideas that might give some extra ammunition for teachers when managing rewards for behaviour. I will also be blogging about upcoming plans for ClassDojo. I hope that I’ll be working closely with Nigel Lane and Ciara Brennan who were announced as Community Leads for Ireland.
I’ll be adding a little web sticker on to the bottom of Anseo.net and I’ll be happy to answer any questions about ClassDojo if I can. In the meantime, a big thanks to Jenna in ClassDojo for the opportunity and I look forward to working with her and the rest of the team.
