Project 252

Enda Donlon is one of the best known educators in Ireland and has a strong interest in educational technology. He has been a member of the fantastic CESI committee for many years. This year, he is embarking on a year-long project designed to crowd-source a list of edtech tools in order to compile an A-Z directory, Project 252.

project252screenshotIn his own words, every 2 weeks for the 52 weeks of the year (hence 252) we will focus on one letter of the alphabet (starting with A and going through to Z). For the two weeks that each letter is featured, participants will be invited to submit the details of an edtech tool (for instance, an app, Web 2.0 service, software package, etc.) that begins with that letter. All submissions will be compiled into an A-Z Directory of EdTech Tools that is searchable by a number of criteria. This directory will be available to all via the project homepage.

The project begins this week and participants can submit the details of an edtech tool at http://project252.donenda.com by either logging in using their Twitter account or by submitting anonymously. This is a much needed and very useful tool and it’s fantastic that it’s going to be crowdsourced. There’s already, at this time of writing, over a dozen tools are listed from a number of teachers and educators.

I’ll be supporting this project and I hope you will too!
