The Anseo.net Newsletter features my thoughts on the Irish Primary Education System.
Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been reading some interesting articles about education that aren’t about the SET Allocations.
I was on the radio again, this time with Pat Kenny, about the story where the government is pledging to allocate resources to areas with higher migration.
Another week, another article about the teacher shortage crisis. To be honest, I think they’re all missing the point.
After the AON debacle, only a few days beforehand, you’d think the NCSE would have had the cop on to keep their heads down, but, no, they can’t.
I often speak about the role of religion in Irish schools so I was interested in the ongoing issue in “Britain’s Strictest Teacher’s school” where Muslim students are not allowed to pray. I often reckon she is more interested in the publicity.
Meanwhile in Ireland, racism is being given the boot in Roscrea and Portlaoise.
Finally, how hard can teaching be? A journalist finds out.
You can read all the stories I found interesting on my Feedly page.
Some of you might be interested in seeing how your own school fared out over the years so I created a page on Anseo.net so you can find your school and analyse the data.
I have also created a separate table that predicts what your school’s SET Allocation will be! I hold no responsibility for it being completely wrong and everything is explained on the page!
