I’m personally surprised by this news. I subscribe to the Education Posts forum, which is a forum for all teachers and SNAS. A thread was started a couple of days ago about whether a teacher should invest in Promethean or Smart IWBs. I was amazed to see that almost every post so far condemned Promethean’s after sales service. To quote a user…

I too had a promethean IWB-it was fantactic, amazing………..
until one thing went wrong, then another, then another,
trying to get any sort technical support was a joke…………………”
After speaking with both Smart and Promethean representatives, I felt that both companies were very good at their jobs, with regards to technical support. I hope that this discussion will continue as I would like to hear some good experiences too.
