How many times have you said to yourself, “If I were the Minister for Education…?” Well I do! Rather than grumble to myself, I decided to write about and podcast my thoughts on ways I’d change the primary education system in Ireland.

Just not this second.
This book wasn’t written to tell you how to be a better leader. If you have survived a Monday morning in a primary school, you are already a leader of extraordinary resilience. It was written because I have spent over two decades obsessed with a single question: How can we use technology to make life easier for teachers?
Before I became a teacher, I was a computer programmer. I created the first Irish cross-curricular primary educational software back in the days of CD-ROMs. I’m trying to solve little problems that teachers and principals have, and these are the apps I’ve been working on. If you have an idea, let me know and I’ll give it a crack!
Does your school have rotas for emptying the staff room dishwasher? This app allows you to create rotas and send reminders to your staff when it’s their turn.
List your staff, set your yard times and it will generate you a yard duty timetable, which you can edit to suit your needs.
Pop in the details for your school year and it generates a printable colour-coded calendar!
Never write a policy again! Develop your school policies in a few clicks and get reminded when they need to be reviewed.
