Many primary schools already have Student Council established for quite a number of years but there are many schools that don’t. At a minimum, I suggest that all primary schools should have a Student Council.
A good Student Council should be the voice of the student body of the school, elected by the students for the students. They should have a say in the running of the school and be able to assess policies and make suggestions before they go to the Board.
Many Student Councils, however, are limited to more minor roles. I’d suggest that training is provided to schools to ensure they get the best they can out of Student Councils.
